Shorty’s North Shore is looking for an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team!

As our Assistant General Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to lead the entire operation—from our people and guest experience to sales, labor, cost controls, training, and daily execution.
We’re looking for someone who can bring the ENERGY while understanding the BUSINESS.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of restaurant, bar, hospitality, or management experience
- Previous Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or comparable leadership experience
- High-volume restaurant and bar experience strongly preferred
- A hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor and working alongside the team
- Proven ability to lead, coach, develop, and retain great people
- Strong understanding of FOH and BOH restaurant operations
- Knowledge of labor management, scheduling, inventory, cost controls, and profitability
- Strong understanding of beverage and food operations
- Ability to analyze the business and make smart operational decisions
- Strong guest-recovery and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective during high-volume shifts
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Professional presence with a positive attitude and GREAT energy
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, game days, concerts, and special events
- Must be 21+
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Partner with the General Manager to lead all aspects of daily restaurant operations
- Lead, coach, train, develop, motivate, and retain our team
- Help build a positive, energetic, accountable, and FUN workplace culture
- Run successful shifts from opening through closing
- Be visible and engaged—we lead from the floor, not from the office
- Ensure outstanding hospitality and consistent guest experiences
- Support and develop managers, servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and BOH team members
- Maintain strong service, food, beverage, cleanliness, and operational standards
- Manage labor based on sales, business volume, game days, and special events
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure the restaurant is positioned for success
- Monitor sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, comps, voids, and other key operating metrics
- Help manage inventory, ordering, pars, waste, and cost controls
- Ensure proper cash-handling and POS procedures
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training
- Maintain company policies, safety procedures, and responsible alcohol-service standards
- Handle guest concerns quickly, professionally, and with genuine hospitality
- Help execute game days, DJs, concerts, large parties, private events, and special events
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability
- Work closely with the General Manager and leadership team to continuously improve the business
- Lead by example every single shift
