Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or in a child related or social services field preferred   EXPERIENCE One year experience working directly with children in a child-related field with degree; OR Five years’ experience working directly with children in a child-related field with some college; OR Seven to ten years’ experience working directly with children in a child-related field.   SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS None   JOB STATUS Full time; Non-Exempt   QUALIFICATIONS Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have excellent interpersonal skills Must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African American heritage   RESPONSIBILITIES Expected caseload is approximately 15-17 cases – PLEASE NOTE THAT ACTUAL CASELOAD WILL VARY ACCORDING TO AGENCY NEED Provide a full range of emergency/temporary care service to parents and children (which includes training, crisis intervention services, placement and monitoring, and transporting) Work on-call hours as directed Interface with all providers for the purpose of planning meetings; Prepare monthly progress reports and other reports that are required by Allegheny County Children and Youth Services, DPW and this agency Adhere to all other program and agency policies and procedures governing the objective of the agency and program This position requires a flexible work schedule to include evenings and weekends   REQUIREMENTS Registered and insured vehicle Certificate of Insurance for vehicle Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License City/County travel Current Act 33 and Police Clearances Available to work flexible schedule Carry cell phone On Call   Reports to Child and Family Services Supervisor   A Second Chance is an Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religious; national origin or ancestry; sex; gender identity or expression; sexual orientation disability; marital status; familial status; age (40 or over); or use of a guide or support animal because of blindness, deafness or physical disability of any individual or independent contractor or because of the disability of an individual with whom the person is known to have an association; or on any other basis prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
