Position Summary
The clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to a manager within the Allegheny County Sanitary Authority.
Job Duties
-Answers telephone, takes messages and greets visitors.
-Types, scans, copies and mail documents.
-Records and types up meeting notes.
-Data entry.
-Inventories/orders office supplies.
-Maintains calendars.
-Maintains paper and electronic files.
-Prepares and distributes a variety of reports, memos, schedules, and forms.
-Responsible for the operator maintenance of the copier/printer.

Knowledge / Abilities
Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other standard office software.
General office practices, procedures, and administrative support functions.
Business English, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading.
Operation of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and multi-function devices.
Customer service principles and professional office etiquette..
Recordkeeping and document management practices.
Purchasing, ordering, and maintaining office supplies.
Filing systems, both electronic and paper.
Scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and coordinating appointments.
Ability to:
Prepare, proofread, format, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and other business documents.
Accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain data in computerized systems and databases.
Operate standard office equipment efficiently and safely.
Prioritize multiple assignments and meet established deadlines with minimal supervision.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with employees, vendors, and the public.
Provide courteous and professional customer service in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
Minimum Education Level Required
HIgh School Diploma or GED

1 year general, clerical experience
