The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleÂ
Â
As a Cloud FinOps & DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing one of Solventum’s largest areas of investment: cloud infrastructure. You will drive financial discipline across cloud platforms while building tooling, automation, and AI enabled solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and decision making across engineering and product teams.Â
You will make an impact by:Â
Driving engineered cloud savings, cost transparency, and forecasting accuracy across AWS and emerging multi-cloud environmentsÂ
Identifying spend anomalies, managing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and partnering with engineering teams to implement cost‑efficient technical changes.Â
Clearly communicating cloud cost forecasts, anomalies, budgets, and risk drivers to enable timely, informed decision‑making across the organization.  Â
Designing and delivering automation, tooling, dashboards, and platform solutions that support FinOps, DevSecOps, and broader Cloud Technology objectivesÂ
Enabling adoption of AI assisted workflows that improve productivity, analysis, and operational outcomes for yourself and othersÂ
Providing technical guidance, standards, and implementation support to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable cloud solutionsÂ

 Your Skills and Expertise  Â
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Â
 Bachelor’s degree or higher and 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or platform operationsÂ
Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, including cost management, compute, storage, and managed servicesÂ
Experience designing or supporting automation, scripting, or tooling (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines)Â
​ANDÂ
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required: Â
2 years of Cloud cost observability tooling experience (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Trusted Advisor) to investigate spend drivers and support anomaly/root-cause workflowsÂ
Strong executive‑level presentation skill with experience presenting to senior leadership and large audiences, and the ability to clearly articulate complex topics, manage ad‑hoc questions, and maintain a high level of professionalism.Â
Strong understanding of production systems, operational reliability, and risk‑aware change managementÂ
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and finance teamsÂ
1+ years of experience using AI / generative AI tools to accelerate workflows, including speeding up analysis, automating repetitive tasks, and producing reusable playbooks/templates that improve team productivityÂ
Â
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Â
 Experience with FinOps practices, engineered savings, or cloud financial governanceÂ
Discount and commitment optimization experience (Reserved Instances / Savings Plans), including monitoring coverage/utilization and supporting commitment strategy decisionsÂ
Experience building and maintaining reporting using BI tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau)Â
Experience working with SQL‑based datasets and advanced Excel analysis (e.g., joins, aggregations, pivot tables)Â
Experience supporting DevSecOps platforms, CI/CD enablement, observability, or security standardsÂ
Experience working in multi‑cloud or cloud‑agnostic architecturesÂ
