We’re seeking a future team member for the role Data Governance Architect to join our Finance Data Governance team. This role is in Pittsburgh, PA.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Design and evolve conceptual, logical, and physical data models for key Finance domains (e.g., General Ledger, product/client hierarchies, balance sheet, and P&L), ensuring models meet reporting and analytics needs.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement models across data warehouses/lakehouses; review schema changes, performance implications, and downstream impacts.
  • Define and advocate data architecture standards and patterns (naming conventions, modeling guidelines, partitioning strategies, data contracts, and documentation best practices).
  • Collaborate with Data Governance to embed standards, lineage, and quality controls into pipelines and datasets; contribute to the business glossary and metadata catalog.
  • Implement reproducible ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and modern data tooling (e.g., dbt, Spark, Informatica) and support source-to-target mapping and transformation logic.
  • Support end-to-end data lineage capture and validation from source systems through transformations to reporting outputs; familiarity with lineage platforms such as Manta or Solidatus is preferred.
  • Establish data quality rules and observable KPIs; lead triage and remediation for high-impact data issues affecting Finance and regulatory reporting.
  • Deliver clear technical artifacts including ERDs, source-to-target mappings, data contracts, and operating procedures; participate in design reviews and governance forums.
  • Advise on reference/master data management approaches and align taxonomies, hierarchies, and reference data standards across platforms.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Data/Information Management, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in data architecture and data modeling, ideally within financial services or other highly regulated domains.
  • Strong data modeling skills (conceptual/logical/physical), including relational and dimensional modeling; ability to align models to Finance reporting, accounting, and regulatory needs.
  • Data governance expertise (data dictionary/business glossary, critical data elements, stewardship operating model, and data quality controls).
  • End-to-end data lineage and metadata management experience, including use of catalog/lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Purview, Manta, Solidatus, or similar).
  • Data product mindset: define ownership, SLAs, documentation/metadata, and quality rules; partner with engineering to operationalize.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL/ELT and transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt, Spark, Informatica); proficiency with Excel.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and ability to lead without authority; mentor analysts/engineers and work effectively across engineering, Finance, and business teams.
