About the Role:

The Director of Human Resources in the Accommodation and Food Services industry plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the organization's human capital strategy to support business objectives. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws, ensuring a productive and positive workplace culture. The role demands strategic planning to align workforce capabilities with the dynamic needs of the hospitality sector, fostering employee engagement and retention. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in human resources management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations applicable in the United States, particularly within the accommodation and food services industry.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or an MBA.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR.
  • Experience working in multi-site hospitality or food service organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy of the accommodation and food services sector.
  • Lead and manage the recruitment and selection process to attract qualified candidates and ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures to maintain a positive and compliant work environment.
  • Design and administer performance management systems, employee development programs, and succession planning to enhance workforce capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and manage risk related to HR policies and practices.
