Get to Know the Role: 

We are looking for an experienced monitoring and observability engineer who can partner with us to bring the team to the next level. This candidate will help us ensure site stability through our observability platform, both in its current topology as well as help us identify what is next to support our engineering growth strategy. This role is expected to be a partner in our journey, so we are looking for someone who can identify opportunities in tools, process, execution, and delivery. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Enhance existing monitoring system to reduce cost and complexity while adding self service and automation capabilities 
  • Contribute to monitoring roadmap through research of industry trends, new alternatives, and enhanced capabilities to ensure we are utilizing the best tool for the job 
  • Partner with monitoring stakeholders to ensure their needs are being met, any gaps / opportunities on the platform as well as discuss upcoming needs 
  • Lead training sessions with our monitoring stakeholders to ensure teams are engaged and understanding of all of the capabilities of the platform 
  • Partner with our vendors to understand tool capabilities as well as future enhancements so we can ensure we are consistently moving our platform forward 
  • Maintain monitoring platform (currently New Relic, Splunk, Elastic, Google Observability, Atlassian) 

What You Bring: 

  • Experience with monitoring platform administration currently utilized tools or industry equivalents 
  • Working knowledge of application and infrastructure topology required to operate an eCommerce application platform 
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Argo) 
  • Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Strong Communication - written and verbal 
  • Familiarity with platform components such as VMs, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, load balancers, cloud products, container systems, compute, storage

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
