UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital & The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine currently employ more than 200 psychiatrists and manage more than 500 psychiatric beds across the network. We have more than 390,000 outpatient visits a year and over $180 million in research funding. UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is an integrated behavioral health system comprising clinical services, education and training, and research.   Together with the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, we provide behavioral health care that is informed by the latest research, for individuals across the life span, who are at all stages in their recovery. Many of our sites are teaching clinics and offer multiple opportunities for training residents, medical students, and other trainees. The Department of Psychiatry offers a Clinician Educator Faculty Development Program and is also actively recruiting physicians who are interested in furthering our robust DEI initiatives, including the University of Pittsburgh Race and Social Determinants of Equity and Well-being Cluster Hire and Retention Initiative.

Duties will include providing psychiatric and behavioral health services to patients across the life span for Western Psychiatric Hospital and its clinics. Faculty will also be required to teach UPMC trainees such as residents and fellows, as well as UPSOM medical students.

Minimum education requirement: MD or DO degree and completion of a psychiatry residency.

Experience working with diverse communities is preferred.
