As a Front of Store Attendant, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:Â
Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:Â
Greet:Â
10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or waveÂ
4ft: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interactionÂ
Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experienceÂ
End every guest transaction with a sincere thank youÂ
Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitudeÂ
Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experienceÂ
Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard through a brand and clean front of store that’s focused on first and last impressions and shopping experiences.Â
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible. Â
Ensure guest safety by stocking and maintaining Spill Stations throughout the store to promote spill response time and injury prevention. Â
Provide a seamless shopping experience for guests by keeping the carts and baskets clean and well stocked with the appropriate use of cart pusher Â
Provide a friendly response to guest carry out requests and team lifts when needed. Â
Maintain interior and exterior brand, including emptying garbage cans and attending to restroom cleanliness, charge electronic carts and attend to spills throughout the store as needed.Â
Empty guest-facing recycling bins when fullÂ
Collect hangers for backroom recycling. Â
Evaluate carts if damaged and request Property Management Lead (PML) maintenance or repairs.Â
Stock spill station and cleanliness supplies during store open hours. Â
Be knowledgeable with Target Loyalty programs and the Target app to be able to assist guests when needed.Â
Partner with leaders as needed to de-escalate any situations and recover the guest shopping experience while following Target’s policies and procedures.Â
Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.Â
Support other duties based on business needs and leader direction at guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, including Starbucks DU, and DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.  Â

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Front of Store Attendant. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:Â
Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team membersÂ
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.Â
Work both independently and with a teamÂ
Ability to prioritize duties based on the businessÂ
Resolve guest questions quickly on the spotÂ
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframesÂ

Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others. Â
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaksÂ
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).Â
Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-up, carryout, etc.Â
