Role Summary

The GIS Coordinator supports Keel Infrastructure's HPC data center and energy infrastructure portfolio by coordinating GIS data between the company and third-party vendors, from due diligence through operations. This role is the day-to-day point of contact for vendor data requests, quality checks, and recordkeeping, making sure site and design information flows smoothly between outside providers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on role for an experienced GIS professional who is highly proficient in ArcGIS software and comfortable working directly with AutoCAD and other drafting/design files to evaluate vendor data.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Data Coordination

  • Serves as the primary point of contact between the company and third-party GIS, survey, and mapping vendors and consultants across the project portfolio.
  • Requests, tracks, and receives GIS data deliverables from vendors supporting due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and operations.
  • Communicates the company's data requirements and formatting standards to vendors and confirms conformance before data is accepted.
  • Coordinates vendor data collection schedules to align with project milestones.

Data Quality & Intake

  • Reviews incoming vendor GIS and CAD data — including AutoCAD drawings and other design files — for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to company data standards.
  • Flags discrepancies or gaps to vendors and internal teams for resolution.
  • Coordinates follow-up data requests and corrections with vendors as needed.
  • Logs and tracks the status of incoming and outstanding vendor data deliverables across all active projects.

Internal Coordination

  • Coordinates with internal land development, engineering, environmental, and construction teams to identify GIS data needs at each project phase.
  • Relays internal data requirements to vendors and relays vendor deliverables and updates back to internal teams.
  • Supports integration of vendor-provided data into the company's internal GIS system and records.
  • Participates in project status meetings to report on data collection progress.

Records & Documentation

  • Maintains organized records of vendor data deliverables, correspondence, and data logs across the project lifecycle — due diligence through operations.
  • Supports consistent file naming, folder structure, and archiving of vendor-provided GIS data.
  • Assists with retention and organization of GIS records to support ongoing operations and future projects.

Process Support

  • Supports tracking of vendor GIS scopes of work, timelines, and invoicing status for internal reporting.
  • Helps identify and recommend process improvements to streamline vendor data coordination.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with GIS data, ideally coordinating with outside vendors, consultants, or survey providers
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Field Maps, or similar) — this is not an entry-level or occasional-user requirement
  • Working experience with AutoCAD and other drafting/design software sufficient to review and cross-reference vendor drawings and data
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with close attention to data accuracy and completeness
  • Working knowledge of GIS data types, formats, and mapping deliverables sufficient to review vendor submissions
  • Experience coordinating between multiple stakeholders — internal teams and outside vendors — on data or deliverable needs
  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent data requests and tracking logs across a project portfolio
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed

Desirable

  • Experience with data center, energy, or land development due diligence and entitlement processes
  • Experience with document or records management systems
  • Familiarity with additional design/drafting tools such as Civil 3D or Bluebeam Revu
