Infusion Scheduling Coordinator

Position Summary

The Infusion Scheduling Coordinator supports the Home Infusion team by coordinating patient visit schedules and communicating directly with patients regarding their upcoming infusion appointments. This position works closely with Patient Care Coordinators and nurses to help ensure visits are scheduled accurately and patients are kept informed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contact patients to schedule and confirm home infusion visits.
  • Communicate appointment dates, times, changes, and cancellations to patients.
  • Make outbound calls and respond to incoming patient calls related to scheduling.
  • Coordinate with Patient Care Coordinators and nurses regarding patient schedules and nurse availability.
  • Assist with rescheduling visits when changes occur.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling information within company systems.
  • Document patient communications and scheduling updates.
  • Follow up with patients who are difficult to reach to help prevent delays in care.
  • Escalate clinical, pharmacy, or medication-related questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Provide professional and compassionate service during all patient interactions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous healthcare scheduling, patient coordination, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable making and receiving a high volume of phone calls.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn scheduling and patient management systems.
  • Home infusion, home health, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare experience is a plus.
