Job Purpose:
The Marketing Campaign Manager leads the execution of integrated marketing campaigns that drive audience growth, earned revenue, and patron engagement across the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's concerts, education programs, and community initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations & Campaigns, this role is responsible for translating marketing strategy into coordinated campaign plans through project management, media execution, production scheduling, vendor coordination, and cross functional collaboration. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional organization and attention to detail while managing multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned across all marketing channels. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Campaign Planning & Execution  

  • Develop comprehensive campaign plans that translate marketing strategy into coordinated execution.
  • Manage campaign timelines, milestones, and deliverables from kickoff through completion.   
  • Ensure campaign components are delivered on schedule across paid, owned, and earned marketing channels.   
  • Coordinate campaign launch readiness and execution across all marketing functions.   
  • Monitor campaign pacing and proactively address risks or delays.  

Integrated Campaign Coordination  

  • Lead campaign kickoff and status meetings. 
  • Coordinate work across Digital Experience, CRM & Lifecycle Marketing, Creative Services, Group Sales & Community Partnerships, Ticketing, Communications, and external vendors.  
  • Maintain campaign documentation, timelines, and action items.   
  • Ensure campaign priorities remain aligned with departmental objectives.   
  • Communicate campaign progress and potential issues to Marketing leadership. 

Media Planning & Campaign Implementation  

  • Implement media plans developed by the Director of Marketing through coordination of media schedules, agency relationships, vendor deliverables, and campaign execution.  
  • Coordinate media buying, trafficking, scheduling, and vendor deliverables across traditional and digital channels.   
  • Manage relationships with advertising agencies, media partners, printers, and promotional vendors.   
  • Monitor campaign budgets and media pacing, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency.   
  • Ensure media placements align with approved campaign strategies and budgets.   

Creative & Production Coordination  

  • Translate campaign strategy and creative direction established by the Director of Marketing into actionable campaign plans and production schedules.   
  • Coordinate creative requests and production schedules with the Senior Manager, Creative Services.   
  • Ensure creative assets are delivered accurately, on time, and according to specifications.  
  • Maintain quality control across campaign deliverables, ensuring consistency with brand standards and campaign objectives.   
  • Coordinate approvals and distribution of campaign assets.   

Campaign Performance & Optimization  

  • Monitor campaign pacing and execution throughout the campaign lifecycle.   
  • Coordinate performance reporting with the CRM & Lifecycle Marketing Manager, Senior Manager, Digital Experience, Ticketing, and Marketing Operations.   
  • Identify tactical opportunities to improve campaign performance during execution.   
  • Prepare post-campaign execution summaries and operational insights.   
  • Support the Director of Marketing in evaluating campaign effectiveness and identifying strategic recommendations for future campaigns.  

Vendor & Financial Coordination  

  • Manage campaign-related vendor relationships and deliverables.   
  • Track campaign expenses and coordinate invoice processing in partnership with the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations.   
  • Ensure campaign expenditures remain within approved budgets.   
  • Support forecasting and budget reconciliation throughout campaign execution.   

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Arts Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.   
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing integrated marketing campaigns or campaign execution.   
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex, multi-channel marketing initiatives.   
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, traditional media, campaign planning, and production workflows.   
  • Experience working with CRM platforms (Tessitura preferred), project management software (Asana preferred), and marketing analytics.   
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.   
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.   
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.   

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience in performing arts, nonprofit, or cultural organizations.   
  • Knowledge of ticketed entertainment marketing and subscription-based business models.   
  • Experience working with media agencies, advertising vendors, and production partners.  
  • Familiarity with digital advertising platforms, email marketing, and campaign analytics.   

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods. 
  • Ability to operate related equipment, i.e., computer, copier, scanner. 
Compensation and Location:
This is a full-time exempt position with an annual salary between $55,000 - $62,000 depending upon experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes paid holidays, paid time off, employer paid health benefits, as well as retirement savings options with an employer match. Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh is the work location for this position. The PSO supports a flexible, hybrid work environment, which currently includes three days per week in-person work, including occasional work on weekends and evenings during PSO and Heinz Hall concerts or events.
