Acutronic is looking for a Mechanical Assembler II who is responsible for assembling mechanical components and parts into a finished product by following detailed instructions, blueprints, and specifications, using a variety of hand tools and power tools, while ensuring quality control and proper fit throughout the assembly process.

Mechanical Assembler II

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying prints, reviewing parts lists and gathering parts, tools and necessary materials
  • Assemble and test complex mechanical subassemblies and systems involving many parts; care, alignment, and precision tolerance of parts is critical
  • Evaluate the alignments of axes in relation to each other: verify the orthogonality and angular displacement measurements through use of autocollimators, mirror assemblies, electronic indicators, or alignment telescopes
  • Fit and size parts using lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and various machine shop tools
  • Clean and prepare parts for finish, inspect incoming parts for defects
  • Assist in the packing and shipping of equipment to customers
  • Perform field service functions on equipment, both domestically and internationally
  • Maintain a safe, orderly and clean work area
  • Perform maintenance on machines and equipment
  • Meet budget and schedule requirements

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical School or Machining Apprenticeship is desirable
  • At least two years of mechanical experience is required, three years of experience preferred
  • Willing to learn and grow skillset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Positive and team-focused demeanor
  • Ability to travel to perform installations of equipment and service calls; 10%-15% domestically; occasional international travel may be necessary
