The Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing Focus) is a key technical owner responsible for independently solving manufacturing, sustaining, and quality issues while enabling fast, scalable, and reliable fulfillment. This role provides deep Manufacturing Engineering capability, owning problem resolution from root cause through validated solution and implementation, with Design Engineering primarily providing final technical approval.

The Mechanical Engineer drives manufacturability, quality, cost, and production efficiency across existing products, new product introductions, and acquired product integrations. This role is accountable for developing and validating technical solutions, updating engineering and manufacturing documentation, and implementing process improvements that reduce cycle time, minimize rework, and improve service outcomes. Success requires strong technical judgment, structured problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Â
Mechanical: Design, develop and test mechanical components, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling with a strong emphasis on design for quality and reliability, Manufacturability (DFM), and serviceability; Optimize materials, tolerances, and related processes for cost effective and repeatable manufacturing.Â
New Product Integration: Support new product integration by transitioning designs from rollout to production, ensuring manufacturing readiness and process capability
Quality & Compliance: Ensure products and processes meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements; Support quality investigations, nonconformance resolution, and engineering change activities including Engineering Change Notifications and Letters of Deviations; Perform product and firmware line validations working closely with product teams and Quality Assurance.
Process Improvement: Implement opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.Â
Issue Escalation:Â Work with a high degree of urgency and extreme ownership to root cause and counter measure line down or urgent situations
Collaboration: Work with operations leadership to problem solve, root cause and ensure seamless integration throughout manufacturing processes.
Equipment Management: Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment.Â
Documentation: Create and maintain process, fixture and test procedure documentation.Â
Compliance: Ensure processes meet or exceed stated compliance requirements
Management System: Assess, approve and implement Engineering Change Notifications, Oracle Configuration Management changes, and Letters of Deviation.
Technical Support: Provide Operations Team members with fixture, test procedure, and process support.
Training: Provide Operations Team members training on fixture, test procedure, and processes.

Qualifications Required:
Â
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing application
Problem solving skills – Capable of troubleshooting and implementation of counter measures
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerancing, and fabrication methods
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, perform detailed analysis, and provide recommendations to management regarding corrective actions and potential design improvements.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Experience with LabView and CREO to create or update drawing information

Hardware test and verification
Experience with regulatory complianceÂ
Experience in embedded software/firmware
Gas detection equipment experience
Existing knowledge of Lean Concepts with demonstrated successÂ
Basic operational knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce, JIRA and Windchill
