UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Full-Time Diagnostic Technologist to support our Operating Room team! In this dynamic role, you’ll work rotating daylight shifts Monday–Friday (with one Saturday a month, call, and 2–3 holidays). What You’ll Do

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in the OR using established protocols and independent judgment.
  • Accurately identify patients, review physician orders, and document imaging data.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and technologists to ensure safe, efficient imaging support during procedures.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and follow all safety and radiation standards.
  • Provide compassionate, clear communication to patients and colleagues to ensure comfort and understanding.


  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
    • Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.

      Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
    • Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
