UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Respiratory Therapist to support the Infant Team!

The Infant Respiratory Therapy department includes many areas for opportunity such as Labor & Delivery Response, Level III NICU, OB Trauma Response, Neonatal Team Autonomy, and Inter-facility Ground Transport.

This position will work rotating shifts. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas apparatus, and aerosol generators

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Transport mechanically ventilated patients

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain patient charts

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assess patient condition and determine treatment requirements

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor patient responses to therapy

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct pulmonary function tests



聽聽聽聽聽聽 Graduate of a Co ARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program required.

o聽聽 Students who have received a Temporary Practice Permit but have not yet graduated from a Co ARC approved Respiratory program are permitted to begin employment with approval from the Human Resources department.

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation required Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required prior to expiration of temporary practice permit.

o聽聽 Respiratory therapists who receive their CRT credential from the NBRC after July 1, 2002, are required to maintain certification under the NBRC requirements

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

聽聽聽聽聽聽 CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) OR聽Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Act 33 with renewal

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Act 34 with renewal

聽聽聽聽聽聽 Act 73 FBI Clearance
