JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Client Project Manager to spearhead the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-visibility initiatives crucial to our strategic objectives. This role demands a proven leader who can expertly navigate highly matrixed environments, serving as the single point of accountability for project success, financial performance, and robust stakeholder alignment. As a trusted advisor to Directors and Vice Presidents, you will translate strategy into executable plans, proactively manage risks, and drive data-informed decisions to achieve critical business outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate delivery excellence, possess deep expertise in project and financial management, and influence without authority to drive results. You will also play a key role in mentoring peers and contributing to the continuous improvement of our project delivery standards.

Primary Duties:

Strategic Delivery & Execution: Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business outcomes. Translate business objectives into actionable delivery plans, meticulously balancing scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk. Executive Partnership & Influence: Act as a trusted advisor to Directors, VPs, and Executive Sponsors, proactively managing expectations and fostering collaborative decision-making across business, technology, and vendor teams. Deliver executive-level communications, including status updates, escalations, and data-driven recommendations. Financial & Performance Management: Own and meticulously manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) and delivery metrics to monitor project health, identify trends, and implement timely corrective actions to safeguard outcomes. Risk Management & Governance: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies. Establish robust governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and documentation to ensure audit compliance and decision-readiness. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and inspire cross-functional delivery teams, fostering a culture of accountability and results. Mentor other project managers and actively contribute to enhancing our project delivery maturity through continuous improvement initiatives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed schedules, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessments. Proactively identify and mitigate potential project roadblocks.

  • Scope Management: Define and manage project scope, ensuring all deliverables align with business objectives. Manage changes to scope effectively and efficiently.

  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources (human, financial, and material) effectively to optimize performance and meet project deadlines.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, communicating project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.

  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing appropriate corrective actions. Maintain a detailed RAID log.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports, maintaining meticulous documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, project artifacts, and approvals.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure projects meet defined quality standards.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business or related field or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus for candidates supporting complex, enterprise‑scale initiatives. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years of experience in project management to include successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget and managing multiple projects concurrently

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, etc.)

Preferred

  • 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives in a matrixed enterprise environment, including delivery within healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries, with accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and outcomes across technical and business teams.

  • Proven executive‑level engagement experience, partnering with Directors and VPs to provide data‑driven insights, manage escalations, and drive informed delivery and trade‑off decisions.
  • Strong financial and performance management background, including budget ownership, forecasting, KPI‑based delivery monitoring, and leadership of risk mitigation and recovery efforts for at‑risk initiatives.

LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS

Required

  • None

Preferred

  • Professional project management certification preferred, such as PMP®, PgMP®, or equivalent.

  • Agile or scaled‑Agile certification preferred, including SAFe®, PMI‑ACP®, or Scrum‑related credentials.
  • Healthcare, insurance, or regulated‑industry training or certifications considered a strong plus.

SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced delivery leadership skills, including planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, and execution of complex, multi‑workstream initiatives in matrixed enterprise environments.
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and using data to drive delivery decisions and trade‑off recommendations.
  • Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Directors and VPs, manage escalations, and lead resolution of high‑visibility issues.
  • Technical delivery fluency, enabling effective collaboration with engineering, architecture, data, quality, and operations teams in regulated environments.
