Structural Engineer

Design Hire is seeking a Structural Restoration Engineer to support evaluation, repair design, and project coordination for existing structures. This role is a strong fit for someone with civil or structural engineering experience who enjoys a mix of field assessments, office-based design work, CAD production, and client-facing project support.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform condition assessments, site investigations, field testing, and construction observation for existing structures.
• Evaluate field data, structural conditions, deterioration, repair needs, and material performance.
• Develop repair alternatives, technical reports, cost estimates, drawings, details, and specifications.
• Support restoration and building envelope projects involving parking structures, plazas, roofs, and related built environments.
• Assist with project management, client coordination, submittal reviews, shop drawings, field quantities, and construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field required.
• 4 to 5+ years of experience preferred, with flexibility for strong candidates from 3 to 10 years.
• Experience evaluating, repairing, restoring, or assessing existing structures preferred.
• Background with parking structures, building envelopes, forensic engineering, or material testing is a plus.
• Concrete and steel experience strongly preferred.
• AutoCAD experience preferred due to drafting and CAD production needs.
• FE/EIT preferred. PE license highly desirable.
• Ability to work primarily from the office and travel to project sites for assessments, observations, and coordination.
