Job Description:

  • MFA students will collaboratively teach a 6-week creative writing course for the Environmental Charter High School Enrichment Period block, in which students choose special-topics courses based on their own interests.
  • Instructors will work together with supervisor Dr. David Blackmore and with their fellow instructors to develop a curriculum for this new mini course, which will include formal interactive lessons as well as time for informal workshops and individual mentorship during class time. 
  • The dates for the Enrichment course will be Oct. 22, 2025 - Dec. 3, 2025 (Wednesdays 2:10-3:00 p.m.).
  • Instructors will be expected, whenever possible, to participate in weekly teaching circle meetings here at Chatham with current graduate instructors and teaching assistants. We meet Tuesdays 5:00-5:30 p.m. in Falk 219B.
  • Pay rate is $100 per session ($50 per hour for two reported hours)
  • Reports to Dr. David Blackmore

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
