Graduate Assistant Position - Grading Assistant (1) 

 

Position Overview 

The School of Business & Enterprise seeks a qualified MBA student to serve as a Graduate Assistant with primary responsibility for grading student assignments. This position provides valuable experience in academic assessment while supporting faculty in maintaining high-quality educational standards. 

 

This position offers excellent professional development opportunities for MBA students interested in education, assessment, and academic administration. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled MBA student in good academic standing 

  • Strong analytical and written communication skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite  

  • Previous experience in business or academic environments preferred 

 

Primary Responsibilities 

Grading and Assessment (80% of role) 

  • Grade student assignments, examinations, and projects according to instructor-provided rubrics 

  • Provide constructive feedback on student work that supports learning objectives 

  • Maintain detailed grading records and ensure accuracy in all assessments 

  • Calculate and record grades in appropriate systems within specified timeframes 

 

Administrative Support (20% of role) 

  • Attend brief meetings with supervising faculty to discuss grading expectations and student progress 

  • Assist with organizing and distributing graded materials to students 

  • Support faculty with other academic tasks as assigned and time permits 

 

Performance Expectations 

  • Timeliness: All assignments must be graded and returned within deadlines established by supervising faculty 

  • Consistency: Apply grading rubrics uniformly across all student submissions 

  • Quality: Provide meaningful feedback that helps students understand their performance 

  • Reliability: Maintain consistent availability and communication with supervising faculty 

  • Confidentiality: Handle all student information and academic records with appropriate discretion 

  

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in MBA program 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail 

  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and metrics 

  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills 

  • Collaborative approach with ability to work effectively in team environments 

 

Time Commitment 

  • 10 hours per week 

  • Flexible scheduling with peak workload periods aligned with assignment due dates 

  • Availability required during final exam periods 

 

 

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.

Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
