Strategic Weapons Control Systems Engineer

We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Pittsfield, MA to support the modernization of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS) for next-generation defense platforms. This role requires experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes, systems integration, requirements management, verification and validation, hardware/software integration, and defense systems engineering supporting mission-critical strategic weapons technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, integration, testing, verification, and validation of Strategic Weapons Control and Fire Control Systems (FCS).
  • Manage system requirements, technical documentation, traceability, and configuration management activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Coordinate hardware and software integration efforts, including:
    • Test planning
    • Troubleshooting
    • Test execution
    • Reporting and analysis
  • Contribute to system architecture development, engineering design reviews, technical documentation, and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve complex technical and integration challenges.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and engineering presentations with internal stakeholders and government customers.
  • Support engineering process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions to improve engineering workflows and system performance.
  • Support program execution activities within secure defense engineering environments.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 months of related experience.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles, technical standards, and engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to learn quickly and contribute within a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Experience supporting technical problem solving, systems integration, or engineering development activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Fire Control Systems (FCS) or strategic weapons systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes, including:
    • Requirements management
    • Verification and validation
    • Documentation control
    • Configuration management
  • Experience supporting hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and test execution.
  • Familiarity with systems modeling and requirements management tools.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional engineering teams and technical design reviews.
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills.
