Yard Jockey - Overnight Shift

Overview

The Yard Driver is responsible for maintaining organization and production in the Pittston terminal yard.

Shift needed:

Wednesday- Saturday 6pm-6am

Responsibilities

• Spotting inbound and outbound trailers;
• Organize and keep yard free flowing and organized;
• Expedite trailers to shop for shop associates;
• Ensure sufficicent equipment is savailable for trailer shops;
• Must have good communication with other associates;
• Provide excellent customer service to Prime driver and shop associates; 
• Additional work-related tasks as needed. 

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred.

Abilities

Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required. Multitasking and a flexible schedule required.

Experience, Education, and Training

A High School diploma or GED is required; one to three years related experience and/or training preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to get in and out of trailers and hook/disconnect trailers multiple times per day. Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs and push and pull 50lbs. Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop. Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Licensing/Certification

Must have valid CDL with clean driving record.
