Position Overview
The Field Recruiter manages the full-cycle hiring process for driver positions across assigned locations and serves as the primary point of contact for candidates from application through start date.
This is a phone-intensive, high-volume recruiting role that requires continuous outbound candidate outreach, timely responses to inbound inquiries, persistent follow-up, and the ability to manage a large volume of candidate information across multiple systems.
The Field Recruiter is responsible for keeping candidates moving through each stage of the hiring process, identifying and resolving barriers, maintaining accurate records, and partnering with local teams to achieve staffing goals. Success requires strong organization, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple candidates, locations, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
The ideal candidate is comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday on the phone, follows up consistently, and can remain organized while navigating applicant tracking systems, onboarding platforms, screening systems, email, reporting tools, and other recruiting technology.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume candidate pipeline from application through hire across assigned locations.
- Conduct frequent outbound calls, texts, and emails to contact applicants, schedule interviews, provide updates, and maintain candidate engagement.
- Respond promptly to inbound candidate calls, messages, questions, and requests for assistance.
- Review and evaluate applicants based on company, customer, state, and position requirements.
- Conduct candidate phone screens and interviews to assess qualifications and hiring readiness.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates, hiring managers, and operational partners.
- Guide candidates through all stages of the hiring process, including background screening, drug testing, employment verification, licensing requirements, training readiness, and onboarding documentation.
- Prepare and process offers and maintain regular contact with candidates through their confirmed start date.
- Conduct consistent follow-up with applicants, Drivers in Training, and post-offer candidates to improve conversion and reduce candidate fallout.
- Identify missing information, incomplete requirements, delays, and candidate barriers, and take action to resolve them quickly.
- Manage multiple candidates at different stages of the process while balancing changing priorities and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate candidate dispositions, notes, documentation, and activity within all required recruiting and onboarding systems.
- Track candidate progress and ensure information is complete, current, and properly documented.
- Generate and maintain recruiting reports, staffing updates, pipeline activity reports, and hiring metrics.
- Conduct sourcing, candidate re-engagement, referral generation, community outreach, and recruiting event activities to support applicant flow.
- Partner closely with CSC leadership, Safety, Training, and other operational teams to understand staffing needs, hiring priorities, and candidate progress.
- Provide regular updates regarding pipeline health, recruiting activity, hiring progress, candidate barriers, and staffing risks.
- Deliver responsive and professional service to candidates, hiring managers, and operational partners.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive candidate and employee information.
- Follow company policies and ethical standards and report suspicious or inappropriate activity to leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, customer service, sales, call center operations, or high-volume administration preferred.
- Experience managing a high-volume workload, customer base, or candidate pipeline in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday conducting inbound and outbound phone activity.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct persistent and professional follow-up through phone, text, and email.
- Ability to manage a large amount of candidate information across multiple systems, locations, workflows, and stages of the hiring process.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track details, deadlines, documents, and follow-up commitments accurately.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and move multiple candidates through the hiring process simultaneously.
