Job Summary:

The Shipping Team Lead Level II is responsible for managing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillment. This role coordinates workloads across multiple shifts, verifies compliance with shipping processes and carrier requirements, and supervises packaging and loading activities to meet customer deadlines. Additional responsibilities include monitoring performance metrics, resolving workflow issues, training staff on standard operating procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives and serves as backup to the Shipping Supervisor when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily shipping operations to ensure on-time and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Coordinate and assign workloads across multiple shifts or shipping lines.
  • Verify that all shipping processes, documentation, and carrier requirements are met.
  • Conduct team meetings and communicate goals, priorities, and updates to staff.
  • Supervise order processing, packaging, and loading activities to meet customer and production deadlines.
  • Monitor metrics and report daily shipping performance to the Supervisor.
  • Resolve escalated shipping or workflow issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Identify workflow or process issues and escalate to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Train and coach employees in standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure all equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and promote teamwork across shifts.
  • Serve as backup to the Shipping Supervisor during absences.
  • Perform shipping or material handling duties as needed to meet daily requirements.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of shipping or warehouse experience including 1-2 years leadership.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, logistics coordination, and order processing.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to meet targets.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with eFox, SFC, or similar shipping systems.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

This position operates in a warehouse environment with occasional exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, odors, and varying ambient temperatures. Team members will regularly sit for approximately 15% of the workday, while activities such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility comprise about 85% of the workday. The role requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
