Education and Experience:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED; College degree preferred, 
  • Lived personal or family experience with substance abuse challenges and in recovery preferred
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to efficiently document services in a timely manner
  • Have experience working in behavioral health with an in-depth understanding of overdose prevention
  • Must have valid TX driver's license and be insurable

Job Purpose:

  • Offer community-education on overdose prevention and overdose response
  • Provide accurate and current best practice information about addiction treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and overdose prevention
  • Offer community-based distribution of overdose reversal medications

Job Function:

  • Proficiently provide Overdose Prevention training and Naloxone distribution
  • Provide vigorous outreach throughout HHSC Regions 1 and engages community partners
  • Work as part of a team to meet performance measures
  • Efficiently document and submit reports and other data as required or requested
