P&C Private Client Group (PCG/affluent lines) is a division of NFP Property & Casualty. We are a retail operation for affluent and wealthy individuals and families seeking personal lines products in the United States, parts of Europe, and Canada. Our headquarters are in New York City with offices across the country - specializing in insurance ranging from homeowners and auto to specialty lines, such as aircraft and watercraft.

 

The Role at NFP:

What your day looks like: You will interact with clients on a day-to-day basis while creating and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. You will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as the renewals of assigned clients with little direct supervision. In this role, you will serve as lead consultant and primary point of contact for clients. You may work on large, complex accounts with large premiums and multifaceted coverages for an approximate and growing book of business with 350k in revenue. You must have experience writing/servicing policies in NY!

 

This role will ideally report to our Long Island-South Hampton Office, NY. We will consider a remote option for experienced PR/HNW candidates with NY servicing experience and within the East Coast who are familiar with such markets and can report to the office as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, and clients through regular contact and client visits.
  • Keep clients informed of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.
  • Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Responsible for accurate information such as updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements and miscellaneous information to avoid any E&O claims.
  • Maintain follow-up system to ensure policies, endorsements and other information is received to comply with requests.
  • May direct the daily job activities of the Coordinators and Account Managers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, and clients through regular contact and client visits. Keep clients informed of appropriate industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Be a self-starter and Self-confident to make sound independent decisions.
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities.
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines while applying a sharp attention to detail, decision-making and problem resolution
  • Ability to meet/travel with clients and prospects when required (minimal regional travel expected with obtained approval for expense coverage).
  • Able to work overtime as necessary.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience with writing/servicing policies in NY
  • Typically, more than 7 years of industry and product line experience which includes servicing
  • Personal Lines/PCG coverage experience required
  • Familiarity with major markets, such as AIG, Chubb/ACE, Cincinnati, Berkley One and PURE
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • CRM experience required. EPIC experience is highly desired
  • BA/BS preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional training or education

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Property & Casualty Broker's License required upon hire
  • CIC, CPCU or other P&C designation preferred

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $90,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
