At Apria, you will experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This position provides a balance of branch operations and patient-facing respiratory care while helping patients successfully transition from hospital to home.
Key Highlights
Coverage includes rotation between the Plainview and Riverhead branches
Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Work Arrangement: On-site; approximately 80% office and 20% field
Driving Territory: Up to 1.5 hours from the branch
Salary Range
$52.00 – $60.00 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, education, and applicable credentials.
On-Call Transparency
Rotating on-call schedule shared among all Respiratory Therapists
Week-long coverage rotation
What You'll Do
Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups
Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
Performs other duties as required
What We Look For
Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active NY RT license.
Open to candidates with varying experience levels; 2+ years preferred
Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license
Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Education
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
Hold a current CPR Certification
Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
