Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Configure and manage core security technologies including SIEM, EDR, DLP, CASB, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability management systems, and email security gateways.
  • Assist in the development, tuning, and implementation of detection logic for security alerts.
  • Provide recommendations to management to enhance the organization’s overall security posture.
  • Audit and adjust DLP policies to proactively identify and prevent leaks of sensitive information/PII.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate security related incidents which may require periodic, on-call, after hour support, including weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain vulnerability management/scanning systems to aid in risk assessments and collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Periodically assist with the gathering of artifacts required for SOC, HIPAA, and ISO27001 audits.
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of:
    • MITRE ATT&CK framework tactics and techniques.
    • Current security risks, threats, trends, and vulnerabilities.
    • Various operating systems including Windows, Linux, Unix.
    • TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
    • Cloud/Web application architecture and operations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams ingrain security into new processes and technology deployments.
  • Perform periodic audits of network security tools including firewalls and IDS/IPS to identify potential improvements.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelors Degree with preference in Engineering, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity (or equivalent demonstrated experience and knowledge)
  • A minimum of 4 years’ professional work experience in an IT and/or Cybersecurity work environment.
  • 3-5 years experience with enterprise-grade security technologies including SIEM, EDR, DLP, CASB, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability management systems, and email security gateways.
  • Masters Degree/MBA preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
  • Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) preferred.
  • Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) preferred.
  • Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) preferred.
  • Security Operations Certified (GSOC) preferred.
  • Cyber Security Analyst + (CYSA+ preferred.
