Position Summary
Field & Vine is seeking a full-time Bartender/Server to provide polished, attentive food and beverage service in both the bar and dining room. This position prepares alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, serves food, processes guest payments, and maintains a clean and properly stocked work environment.
The Bartender/Server is a tipped, hourly, nonexempt position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and Texas law.
Compensation
Base wage:Â $13 per hour, plus tips.
Essential Job Functions
Welcome guests and provide timely, attentive, and professional service.
- Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders using the restaurant’s POS system.
- Prepare alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages according to approved recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Verify identification and follow all applicable TABC requirements when serving alcoholic beverages.
- Refuse or discontinue alcohol service when required by law or company policy.
- Maintain knowledge of Field & Vine’s food, cocktail, wine, beer, and wellness-focused offerings.
- Communicate allergy and dietary information accurately to the culinary team while following established procedures.
- Monitor the guest experience and respond appropriately to questions or concerns.
- Present checks, process payments, and complete cash-handling responsibilities accurately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and properly stocked bar and service area.
- Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities.
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, workplace-safety, and responsible alcohol-service requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate with restaurant, culinary, banquet, and hotel colleagues.
- Support private events and other food & beverage operations when assigned.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the position and business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old, as required for employees serving alcoholic beverages at an on-premises establishment in Texas.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TABC seller/server certification as required by company policy.
- Ability to complete an accredited Texas food-handler training program within 30 days of employment, unless a lawful exemption applies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to accurately handle payments and operate a POS system.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility will be verified as required by federal law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bartending, serving, or full-service restaurant experience.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible beverage service.
- Experience working in a hotel, upscale restaurant, or lifestyle hospitality environment.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
The following requirements are based on the essential functions of the position and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Frequently stand and move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
- Frequently reach, bend, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Carry trays, dishes, glassware, and beverage supplies.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Work around food, beverages, cleaning products, varying temperatures, moderate noise, and crowded service areas.
