Job Summary

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities for Vector3's MDR business. This role focuses on prospecting, outreach, lead qualification, and appointment setting to create a predictable pipeline of opportunities for the MDR team.

The BDR serves as the front line of business development, helping organizations understand the value of MDR services and scheduling meetings with Technical Account Managers for further evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Relying on advanced knowledge and strong leadership skills, this role is accountable for the following responsibilities:

Pipeline Development & Prospecting

  • Execute outbound prospecting campaigns through email, phone, social media, and networking activities.
  • Identify and research target organizations and decision makers.
  • Generate qualified opportunities through proactive outreach.
  • Maintain prospecting activity metrics and pipeline reporting.
  • Support marketing campaigns and lead follow-up activities.

Lead Qualification

  • Conduct initial discovery conversations.
  • Qualify opportunities using established sales methodologies.
  • Identify customer pain points, business challenges, and security objectives.
  • Schedule meetings and hand off qualified opportunities to TAMs.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking.

Market Awareness

  • Develop a working understanding of cybersecurity risks, MDR services, and Vector3's offerings.
  • Stay informed on cybersecurity trends and customer challenges.
  • Represent Vector3 professionally in all prospect interactions.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with TAMs to support opportunity development.
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaign execution.
  • Participate in pipeline review and forecasting meetings.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and support data integrity for pipeline reporting.
  • Adhere to established lead qualification and opportunity management processes.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Technical Account Managers to ensure smooth transition of qualified opportunities.
  • Partner with marketing and leadership on campaign execution and business development initiatives.
  • Share customer feedback and market intelligence to support continuous improvement of sales strategies.

Education

Minimum 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree.

Certifications, Licenses, and Designations

Preferred advanced degrees or certifications (CISSP, CISM, GCFE, GCFA, GREM, GBFA, GCIH, CFCE, CCE) are a plus

Experience

3 years of experience in business development, inside sales, lead generation, or sales development.

Other

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or MS Dynamics 365.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience selling cybersecurity, SaaS, or managed services.

Pay Transparency 

The pay range for this position is $74,600-$112,000 which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range THMCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The hired applicant will be offered pay within the entire range based on the candidate’s geographic location, qualifications, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
