We are seeking a motivated Discovery Paralegal to join our Plano, TX-based team.

In this role, you will manage the high-volume discovery lifecycle, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely submissions. You will act as the central hub for gathering account evidence, drafting discovery responses, and preparing case files for trial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft discovery documents: Prepare interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and responses to consumer defense discovery. 
  • Manage evidence compilation: Review account notes, chain of title, billing statements, and credit agreements to substantiate outstanding debts.
  • Coordinate verification: Work directly with internal operations to secure accurate corporate verifications and affidavits.
  • Maintain case tracking: Monitor federal and state court discovery deadlines using firm case management software to prevent defaults or sanctions. 
  • Identify deficiency gaps: Review incoming discovery from opposing counsel and identify incomplete answers or missing asset documentation. 
  • Execute electronic filing: Organize, redact, and electronically file finalized discovery documents with state, federal, and bankruptcy courts. 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably within creditors' rights, debt collection, or financial services litigation. 
  • Education: Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal research, electronic filing systems (Texas Efile portal), and case management software. 
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong legal writing skills, and the ability to comfortably manage a high-volume case portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and state consumer protection statutes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking volume metrics and data verification. Additionally proficiency in Microsoft Word and PDF documents with Word Perfect skills a plus
