CS Erickson is seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) to serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects.
This role is ideal for an engineer who wants ownership, field collaboration, and real influence over how projects are designed and built.
What you'll do
Engineering & Design
- Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR)
- Design and approve electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, grounding, low-voltage)
- Seal/stamp drawings, calculations, and specifications
- Perform engineering studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, voltage drop)
Project Collaboration
- Partner with project managers, estimators, and field teams
- Support RFIs, submittals, and construction-phase problem solving
- Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering
Technical Leadership
- Review and approve work from designers and engineers
- Mentor junior team members
- Establish engineering standards and best practices
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local codes
- Coordinate with AHJs, utilities, and inspectors
- Identify and mitigate technical and safety risks
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Active PE license (MI and/or TX, or ability to obtain)
- 7–10+ years of experience in electrical design
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and power system analysis tools
Preferred:
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or mission-critical environments
- Design-build or contractor-side experience
- Familiarity with building automation or energy systems
- Bluebeam, Accubid, or estimating experience
