As a Power Electronics Intern (Mechanical Design) at OmniOn Power, you will work with the R&D Engineering team supporting them in the product development and evaluation of new technologies for high-density and high-efficiency power supplies. This is an onsite role based in Plano, Texas.

The internship is estimated to begin towards the end of May 2026 through beginning August 2026, 10 weeks.

This position reports to:  R&D Senior Engineering Manager based in Plano, Texas

Your responsibilities:

  • Participate in the product and technology projects on high-density power supplies
  • Assist in modeling and designing of mechanical components and assemblies, and creating CAD drawings
  • Assist in thermal design
  • Support engineering prototype builds and conduct laboratory tests
  • Present the technical results

Qualification/ requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a B.S, M.S or Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, in the US
  • Must be able to work out of the OmniOn Power HQ located in Plano, TX during the duration of the internship.
  • Experience in electronics packaging and/ or thermal design:
    • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools – Creo, SolidWorks, etc.
    • Familiarity with ANSYS Icepak
    • Experience in Windchill and BOM structuring.
    • Familiarity with PCB and PCBA, and electrical safety requirements
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in teams
  • Effective communication skills
