  • Texas Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical – Oncology unit, working nights with a schedule of 36 hours weekly across three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
  • Candidates must have a Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing, with a BSN preferred, and at least 1 year of RN experience or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • The position requires current RN licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing, BCLS certification, and ACLS certification within 90 days, along with a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 18 months.

 Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical – Oncology Full Time Nights

 Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Plano, TX 75093

Work hours: Full-time Nights , 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm –  7:00am

Department Highlights: Medical Surgical Oncology (24 Beds) - Medical Surgical Oncology patients, chemotherapy patients, blood transfusions and highly complex biologic drug infusions. 



Here’s what you need:

  • Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – upon hire – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days Req
  • ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate 18 Months Req
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • Two (2) years of RN experience in Oncology preferred

What you will do:

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
