The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation division. Â Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
What You’ll Work On
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, verification, and sustaining of electronic systems and circuits that support Abbott Neuromodulation products. This role provides technical leadership across the product development lifecycle, from prototype through design transfer, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality medical device solutions.
Serves as a technical lead and key contributor in the design and development of implantable and external electronic systems for neuromodulation products.
Designs, analyzes, and documents analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power management circuits, including schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout guidance.
Develops and executes characterization, verification, and validation test strategies to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborates closely with systems, firmware, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams throughout the product development process.
Investigates complex technical challenges, performs root cause analysis, and implements effective corrective actions to support product development and sustaining activities.
Partners with suppliers and manufacturing organizations to support component selection, design for manufacturability, and successful product transfer to production.
Effectively communicates technical information, project status, risks, and recommendations across all levels of the organization to support informed decision-making.
Minium Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical/electronic engineering or related field
Strong technical experience in electronic circuit design, development, and verification
Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, and circuit debugging
Experience developing and executing characterization, verification, and validation testing for electronic systems
Experience working in a regulated product development environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in product development of complex electronic systems
Experience developing Class III medical devices
Experience with analog, digital, mixed-signal, and low-power circuit design
Experience developing automated test solutions using C#, Python, or similar tools
Experience with reliability testing of electronic systems.
Experience working with cross-functional product development teams throughout the product lifecycle

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
