About the role

Responsible for the collect-freight inbound transportation with these full truck load (FTL) and less-than-truck load (LTL) and part of store deliveries via line-haul to pool or LTL to stores, as well as DC shipment coordination, and verification of product delivery to DC & stores. Supports stores service focus, process efficiency, and lowest costs for operational partnership. Supports planning, coordinating and maintaining economical and efficient transportation services for the company. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage collect-freight inbound transportation to ensure excellence vendor’s supply chain performance, such as JPMS, and key own brands vendors. Manage supply chain performance such as on-time & in-full deliveries, meeting competitive budget, etc. 
  • Manager outbound transportation budget & activities to service store deliveries via FTL to pool or LTL while meet or exceed service requirement
  • Implement & Manage Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for inbound activities through Third Party Logistics (3PL) company and day-to-day execution of the inbound functions
  • Recruit, train, motivate, retain, and direct assigned staff effectively and within budget to accomplish departmental or organizational objectives
  • Act as key contact with Third party freight audit company to ensure accurate freight payments and overall analytics program 
  • Support the annual carrier bid process; manage freight carrier scorecards and quarterly meetings
  • Maintain accurate control over all store and customer shipments by complying with all ICC and Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures, including regular invoice and shipping document audits. Ensure compliance with the company’s ethics and EEO policies both personally and within the organization managed 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  •  7-10 years of Transportation experience in retail or similar environment
  • Previous experience in a fast paced, high-volume organization, which mandates quick decision-making and effective communication.
  • Expansive exposure and experience in contract negotiations.
  •  Proficient in 
    • MS Office such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
    • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder and freight rating software
  • Experiences in analytics software such as Tableau, Power BI, Clik

Competencies & attributes

•    Excellent written and oral skills
•    Practical experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS), Freight Audit System and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) 
•    Experience performing in a goal setting environment

 

 Working conditions & physical requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
