Position Summary:
Fitness Trainers are the heart of the Live 2 B Healthy program, delivering safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes for older adults in senior living communities. We are seeking compassionate professionals to deliver specialized movement and wellness programs for older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Our Memory Care Movement Specialists create engaging, failure-free exercise experiences that improve mobility, reduce fall risk, encourage social interaction, and enhance quality of life for residents in Memory Care communities.

This is not a traditional fitness instructor role. Success in this position comes from patience, empathy, creativity, and the ability to connect with residents at every stage of cognitive ability.

Responsibilities
  • Private & Small Group Training: Deliver personalized one-on-one and small group sessions with residents based on their individual abilities, following approved programming and documentation protocols. 
  • Lead small-group movement sessions: Conduct scheduled on-site fitness classes designed specifically for Memory Care residents with varying cognitive and physical abilities, focusing on functional movement, balance, and strength. 
  • Ensure Safety & Inclusivity with Adaptive Programming: Use music, rhythm, familiar movements, and positive reinforcement to maximize participation. Monitor participants closely to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively. Modify activities as needed to support all fitness levels. 
  • Collaborate with community staff to support resident engagement and wellness goals. Observe resident participation and communicate meaningful changes to community staff when appropriate. 
  • Build Positive Relationships: Create a motivating, respectful, and inclusive environment. Establish trust and rapport with residents,  staff, and community decision-makers. 
  • Communication & Reporting: Accurately report attendance, session feedback, and client notes to the Fitness Program Manager.  Communicate class concerns or scheduling issues in a timely manner. 
  • Represent Live 2 B Healthy with compassion, professionalism, and respect.
Qualifications
  • Experience working with Alzheimer's disease or dementia
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care
  • Understanding of age-related conditions and how to safely modify exercises 
  • Fitness certification preferred but not required if the candidate has relevant senior care experience
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled classes
Compensation: 
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience, certifications, and senior care background.
  • Flexible weekday daytime hours with opportunities for additional assignments throughout the North Dallas area.
