We are looking for a customer-focused individual to join our team. The Member Relationship Officer will ensure members’ needs are achieved by conducting a thorough financial assessment and recommending the most appropriate products and services fulfilling the member’s immediate and future financial goals. They will assist in generating leads, building new and maintaining existing member relationships while providing a great member experience. Responsibilities include business development and sales such as effective negotiation, sales, and relationship-building skills, prospecting, building a pipeline, closing sales opportunities, identifying and selling appropriate GTE Financial products and services, originating new members, and generating referrals for credit union services including investment, insurance, business services, and mortgages. Operational duties include salesfloor management, greeting members, directing them to appropriate areas, gathering information, educating members on products/services, reviewing and underwriting loan applications, adhering to audit/compliance procedures, identifying risk for credit union losses, working with Community Development Officers, conducting member financial transactions including consumer loans and mortgages, observing credit union guidelines and compliance regulations, completing regulatory compliance and training, continuous education for personal growth, and participating in meetings and events. Must demonstrate knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and other federal laws, and qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience in the financial industry or related field, bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Position details: Location at Community Financial Center, hours Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, full-time with additional hours as necessary. GTE Financial is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
