Our Food Runners and Server Assistants play an essential role in creating a polished dining experience by ensuring food is delivered accurately, tables remain prepared, and Servers have the support needed to provide attentive guest service. What You’ll Do As a Food Runner / Server Assistant, you will: Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately. Confirm that each order is complete and delivered to the correct table and guest. Communicate effectively with Servers, Managers, Bartenders, and Culinary team members to support timely service. Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests when needed. Support Servers by clearing and resetting tables, refilling water, and replenishing bread, condiments, and service items. Monitor assigned dining areas and respond proactively to guest and team needs. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service stations. Polish silverware, glassware, and service pieces according to established cleanliness and presentation standards. Assist with table setup and ensure place settings meet Kaluz presentation standards. Complete assigned opening, closing, restocking, and side-work responsibilities. Follow all food-safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and workplace-safety procedures. Assist teammates and other dining room sections as business needs require. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned. QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to comply with established uniform, dress, grooming, food-safety, and workplace-safety requirements. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Previous restaurant, hospitality, food-running, bussing, or guest-service experience. Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided. Essential Physical and Work Requirements This position regularly requires the employee to: Stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts. Carry and balance food, beverages, trays, dishes, and restaurant supplies. Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Bend, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements. Safely navigate dining rooms, kitchens, service stations, and other active restaurant areas. Work in an environment that may include elevated noise levels, temperature changes, food allergens, and frequent interaction with guests and employees.
