The Shift Supervisor oversees the daily activities of assigned personnel in the Emulsion plant.  The supervisor monitors operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operators are performing their required tasks and assignments while following established safety rules and procedures.  Document and investigate all EHS&S incidents and personnel matters.
  • Build and sustain involved and accountable operating teams, focused on continually improving all processes associated with the Emulsion lines.  Maintain safe working environment through effective housekeeping and spill/leak prevention measures.
  • Interfaces with the technical organization to ensure we are operating the process within its technical specifications, implementing effective process improvements, and maintaining the equipment appropriately.
  • Control labor costs by enforcing and/or adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Maintain and maximize manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and all process streams to maximize output and minimize costs.
  • Ensure all preventive and reactive maintenance is completed to maintain safe and efficient equipment.
  • Check that finished product meets all customer and internal specs
  • Ensure that all work is performed according to procedures, standards, and specifications of the company and customers.
  • Train employees to perform job duties accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of unit operations and ability to successfully lead a small team of operators in a manufacturing environment.
  • Team and individual leadership, prioritization, trouble-shooting, and motivation of their team.
  • A wide degree of creativity, self-direction and ownership is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of unit operations and the ability to lead a team.

    Emulsion experience preferred.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • A wide degree of creativity and self-direction is required.
  • Proven track record of focusing on safety, quality, production, and environmental matters.
  • Superior communication (verbal & written), ability to motivate, prioritize, and organize in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong supervisory skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to address issues, follow up and implement solutions as required.
