This hybrid position will be responsible for the continuous and effective flow of all carrier movement entering and exiting the facility.  This person will be accountable for maintaining efficient access and egress of the property by controlling carrier delivery and pick-up appointments, as assigned on the daily delivery schedule.  Will direct carriers and visitors to appropriate parking/staging areas or dock doors, as well as remain in constant contact with the AS/RS Office Administrator to inform the dock team of scheduled arrivals.  In addition, this person will ensure that, all completed loads are inspected for appropriately secured trailer seals recorded on bills of lading.

When working in the ASRS dock, this position will be responsible for scanning pallets for loads, verifying pallets to orders, closing out trucks verifying accuracy of bills of lading and interacting with carriers.

2nd shift - 2pm - 10:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain control of all dock appointments and trailer flow at Trailer Checkpoint Shack.
  • Ensure that arriving carriers are processed in their appropriate scheduled appointment window.
  • Direct staging locations for carriers awaiting door assignments.
  • Confirm trailer refer units have been pre-set at 34 degrees continuous.
  • Communicate AOD lot safety procedures and carrier’s roles and responsibilities while on the property.
  • Ensure all departing trailers are appropriately sealed, or locked.
  • Maintain trailer arrival/departure accuracy within the shipping portal.
  • Confirm and approve all AOD employee access, as well as visitor access, as directed by management.
  • Scan all pallets with M3 scan guns, track packaged milk in cold storage, shuttle trucks and direct ship and maintain all required logs and documentation.
  • Support palletizing and labeling areas, as well as monitor product integrity to determine and reject compromised product conditions.
  • Report any unsafe or unacceptable behavioral issues to the Plant Management Team immediately.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Local owner of property access approval.
  • Communicate arrivals of scheduled appointments to AS/RS Office, Front desk administrator, via teams or telephone notification.
  • Direct carriers to appropriate dock doors and reminding them of safe trailer-backing procedures, site speed limits and pedestrian footpaths.
  • Routinely patrol any staged, fleet trailers that are loaded and awaiting pick-up by carrier companies.  Confirm TK units are running and temping at optimal settings.
  • Assisting with ASRS janitorial duties: sweeping, dusting, cleaning multiple surfaces and using the floor scrubber to clean floors.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Prior Security experience beneficial.
  • Ability to execute in high-pressure situations.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Shipping/receiving experience preferred.
  • Experience with PC applications and computer system essential.
  • Detail oriented and team player.
  • Good time management and multitasking skills.
  • Must possess excellent and effective communication skills.
  • Trouble shooting, problem solving and corrective action planning a must.
  • Strong, honest work ethic with ability to handle multiple tasks daily.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the physical ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions will be a requirement.  Standing, walking, climbing and sitting in a small, confined area.  Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around large trucks, tankers and automobiles.
