ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $155,000.00 - $175,000.00

Epic Care is seeking a Certified APP (NP or PA) to work full-time alongside our dedicated team of health care professionals in our medical oncology and cancer genetics service lines. This role will include a strong focus on genetic risk assessment, counseling, and testing integration within oncology care. Oncology experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train motivated individuals. Medical Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin language skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hematology & medical oncology specialty patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
  • Create and manage patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
  • Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and manage health conditions.
  • Detect changes in a patient’s health and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals and participate in tumor boards.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illnesses, treatment plans, and disease prevention.

 

Genetics-Focused Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hereditary cancer risk assessments, including detailed family history evaluations.
  • Provide pre-test and post-test genetic counseling for patients undergoing genetic testing.
  • Educate patients and families on inherited cancer syndromes, testing options, and implications.
  • Coordinate and interpret genetic testing results in collaboration with oncology physicians and genetic specialists.
  • Integrate genetic findings into personalized treatment and screening plans.
  • Stay current with evolving guidelines in cancer genetics and precision medicine.
  • Support cascade testing and family member risk communication when appropriate.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Appropriate degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
  • Active NP or PA licensure in the state of California.
  • Prescriptive authorization and active DEA license required.
  • Interest or experience in cancer genetics, genetic counseling, or precision medicine strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages is preferred.
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required for clinical care.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and computer-based data management programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
