What you will be doing 

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager for Software and SaaS will drive strategic supplier negotiations, manage complex sourcing events, and develop category plans for technology procurement. The role is central to ensuring cost to business value proposition and robust contract controls. 

The position will be based in Boise, Idaho, and Pleasanton, CA.  


Main responsibilities:

Category Strategy Leadership 

  • Develop and own a multi-year Software/SaaS category strategy aligned to enterprise technology roadmaps and financial objectives. 
  • Establish benchmarks, maturity models, and category playbooks that set standards for excellence and consistency across the sourcing organization. 
  • Create forward-looking category insights by monitoring industry trends, vendor landscape shifts, pricing models, and emerging technologies. 

Enterprise Negotiation Leadership 

  • Lead complex, enterprise-wide negotiations with top software, SaaS, and AI providers, representing multi-million-dollar spend. 
  • Guide legal, privacy, security, and finance teams through contractual risk scenarios, commercial structures, and regulatory considerations. 
  • Structure financially sound agreements using advanced cost modeling, TCO frameworks, and scenario analysis. 

Operational and Commercial Optimization 

  • Drive operational efficiency through refined RFx structures, competitive sourcing strategies, and data-driven assessments. 
  • Strengthen commercial outcomes through contract lifecycle oversight, ensuring alignment with consumption trends and cost-efficiency targets. 

Stakeholder Influence & Executive Partnership 

  • Serve as the strategic partner to Technology executives, assisting in investment decisions and shaping commercial direction. 
  • Communicate negotiation strategies, risk positions, and financial models to senior leadership with clarity and precision. 
  • Build lasting partnerships across the organization based on trust, expertise, and consistent delivery. 
  • Leadership & Organizational Development 
  • Influence broader sourcing transformation initiatives, contributing to process modernization, governance enhancement, and capability building. 

 

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • 6–8+ years of technology sourcing and contract negotiation experience with a focus on Software, SaaS, cloud, or digital platforms. 
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale negotiations and securing enterprise-level outcomes. 
  • Expertise in SaaS agreements, cloud consumption, AI/ML technologies, and modern data governance requirements. 
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, including TCO, scenario modeling, and complex deal structuring. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, including experience presenting to VP+ audiences. 
  • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and build alignment across diverse teams.
