Position Overview

The Vendor Compliance Manager leads compliance activities across wholesale, drop-ship, and direct-to-consumer channels. This role ensures adherence to retailer requirements, routing guides, vendor agreements, service-level commitments, and internal controls while reducing deductions, chargebacks, disputes, and operational risk.

The Manager works closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, IT, and Customer Service to identify root causes, recover invalid charges, and strengthen compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage vendor compliance requirements across wholesale, drop-ship, and DTC channels.

  • Own the end-to-end management of retailer deductions, chargebacks, disputes, and compliance claims, including validation, dispute submission, recovery, reporting, and escalation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of retailer routing guides, vendor agreements, customer portals, and service-level requirements.
  • Partner with warehouse, logistics, production, and customer service teams to resolve recurring issues involving labeling, packaging, palletization, fill rates, shipment timing, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment.
  • Monitor EDI and customer portal activity, including purchase orders, ASNs, invoices, order acknowledgments, inventory feeds, and tracking uploads.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Receivable to reconcile deductions, validate claims, recover invalid charges, and monitor financial exposure.
  • Support DTC payment-dispute and fraud processes, including documentation collection, proof of delivery, carrier records, and dispute submissions.
  • Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and root-cause analyses; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to track deductions, recoveries, recurring violations, compliance trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Train internal stakeholders on vendor requirements, compliance processes, and best practices.
  • Lead compliance-related projects and oversee team members, consultants, or third-party partners as needed.
  • Manage one direct report

Compensation Range: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year contingent upon experience. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience of direct experience in vendor compliance, retail deductions, supply chain operations, finance, customer compliance, or revenue recovery within CPG, wholesale, retail, or e-commerce.
  • 2+ years of direct management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing retailer chargebacks, deductions, disputes, and recovery efforts.
  • Working knowledge of retailer routing guides, vendor requirements, EDI transactions, and order-to-cash processes.
  • Experience supporting wholesale, drop-ship, and/or DTC fulfillment environments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems, EDI platforms, customer portals, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, project-management, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, NetSuite, CommerceHub, SPS Commerce, Shopify, Stripe, or comparable platforms.
  • Familiarity with payment fraud-prevention tools and consumer chargeback processes.
  • Experience with CPG and Warehousing/DC environments
  • Experience leading projects, supervising staff, or managing third-party providers.
