Description

Conflict Resolution Specialist

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Conflict Resolution Specialist to join our In-School Counselor program. In this vital role, you will support students at Colonial Middle School, Plymouth Meeting, PA, in identifying, managing, and overcoming conflicts that impact their academic success and personal development. Your expertise will help foster a positive learning environment by mediating disputes, promoting understanding, and developing effective strategies for conflict resolution.


Key Responsibilities:

-  Collaborate with designated district building staff to discover which students need support, and when is the best time to support them  

- Meet with students and assist them in recognizing and understanding the root causes of conflicts affecting their education.

- Mediate disputes between students, staff, and other parties to facilitate constructive dialogue and resolution.

- Develop and implement conflict management strategies tailored to individual student needs.

- Provide proactive support to students of concern to prevent future conflicts and promote positive behavior.

- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and parents to create a supportive environment conducive to conflict prevention and resolution.

- Maintain accurate records of conflicts, interventions, and outcomes to inform ongoing support efforts.


Skills:-

- Proven experience in conflict resolution, mediation, or counseling, preferably within an educational setting.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and empathize.

- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.

- Ability to remain calm and impartial in high-pressure situations.

- Knowledge of conflict management techniques and conflict resolution models.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field. 
  • Holds or is pursuing a license as a mental health care professional, i.e. LSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
