JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and hands-on HR leader responsible for overseeing and executing the full scope of HR operations across Renova One, including payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance and risk management, and HR systems and analytics. This role balances strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, partnering closely with leaders throughout the organization to ensure our team members and the company are well supported. This role plays a critical part in building a strong organizational culture, driving HR initiatives, improving processes, and partnering with leadership to support business goals through effective people management.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Partner with the VP of HR on HR strategy, planning, and execution across the organization 
  • Provide leadership and mentorship across the HR function, ensuring strong day-to-day execution and continued development of the team
  • Partner with department leaders to identify workforce needs and create effective staffing plans 
  • Drive HR process improvements and streamline HR operations for greater efficiency and compliance 
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure consistency and a positive experience 
  • Lead and facilitate new hire orientation, ensuring a consistent, engaging welcome experience for all new team members
  • Provide guidance and leadership on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans 
  • Administer company policies and ensure consistent application across all departments 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and lead HR risk management efforts 
  • Manage benefits administration, annual open enrollment, and employee inquiries 
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of payroll data 
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors or internal payroll teams to resolve payroll issues and discrepancies 
  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and recordkeeping requirements 
  • Monitor and enhance employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives, using retention and engagement data to inform strategy 
  • Support the development and implementation of training programs and leadership development 
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and HRIS data management 
  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports for leadership decision-making 
  • Lead company-wide HR initiatives and change management efforts
  • Partner with the Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist and provide backup recruiting support as needed

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including 1-2 years in an HR leadership capacity
  • Proven experience managing payroll processes and compliance 
  • Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred 
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter strongly preferred 
  • Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements 
  • Multi-state HR experience preferred
  • Proven ability to lead HR process improvement and organizational development initiatives 
  • Experience balancing strategic thinking with hands-on, day-to-day execution 
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms, payroll software, and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus
