Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiberglass Body Repair Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our product quality by inspecting, repairing, and finishing fiberglass bodies. Key Responsibilities
- Surface Repair & Restoration: Perform structural and cosmetic fiberglass repairs on body components using proper tools and techniques.
- Finishing & Polishing: Inspect gel-coat surfaces to identify imperfections; perform sanding, buffing, and polishing using wax, compounds, fillers, or putty to achieve a seamless finish.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools, including orbital sanders, die grinders, drills, gel-coat spray equipment, and high-speed buffers.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough parts inspections and apply a solid understanding of the fiberglass finishing process to meet quality standards.
- Teamwork & Safety: Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of hands-on experience in fiberglass body repair, gel-coat finishing, or a related trade.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in identifying surface defects and utilizing correct compounds and tools to restore finishes.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience using pneumatic and electric power tools (grinders, sanders, buffers).
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
