Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

 

 

 

I.    POSITION OBJECTIVE 

This position exists to provide assistance and recommendations on corrosion and materials related evaluation through participating in P&ID review, equipment specification review, damage mechanism review of equipment inspections, Equipment Abnormal Analysis review, PSM operations issues review, RBMI corrosion research, incident investigations study, project review/study, PHA study, and maintenance/mechanical integrity audit.

 

II.    MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 

Equipment Management: Coordinate with unit maintenance to establish equipment inspection cycles based on the execution result of RBI implementation. Explore the corrosion mechanism to develop the prevention or solutions for equipment integrity enhancement. Provide equipment maintenance records and assist in collecting historical maintenance records of CCD (equipment and piping).   

Corrosion Analysis and Prevention: Conduct the Corrosion Under Insulation inspection and corrosion root cause analysis and improvement. Knowledge, skills, and ability to document activities and inspections as well as review the accuracy of data and information contained in reports prepared by others, and defend the company’s technical and procedural positions related to corrosion control activities. Responsible for development, review and maintenance of CEMP, CUI, and CUF programs. Assist in completing corrosion study activities.

Operations Support: Develop and implement equipment improvement to eliminate process problems and improve operational efficiency. Provide training related to corrosion analysis and prevention for operations/maintenance personnel as well as support the leadership team. Assist in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of improvement work for abnormal equipment.

PSM Compliance: Review and audit of PSM operations and corrosion issues such as Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), accident investigation and equipment abnormal report.

RBMI Implementation and Execution: Work with Site GMO/MI/Maintenance team to develop the Inspection Test Plan (ITP)/Repair Plan/Corrosion Study. Coordinate with unit maintenance/MI to establish equipment inspection cycles based on the execution result of RBI implementation.  

Budget/Schedule Control: Estimate, coordinate, and issue B-2 project budget per project scope of works for review and approval. Perform piping design work and complete the task within the approved project schedule. 

THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

 

III.    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering is required; one year of petrochemical experience is preferred. MS in Engineering is a plus. Other related BS engineering disciplines considered.
  • Previous Related Experience Required 
    • No experience necessary, however, one year of corrosion and risk-based inspection experience within a petrochemical industry is preferred. Knowledge in pipeline assessment, fitness for service evaluation, risk management, and code compliance API 510, 570 & 653 in addition to API 580 and 581 Risk Based Inspections. Experience in pipeline operations, design, and maintenance.
  • Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job 
    • General knowledge of material standards (e.g., API, NACE, ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ISO). 
    • Apply such codes and standards and other governmental regulations along FPC procedures. Ability to use such knowledge in audits and other internal activities for clarification and education purposes.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. 
    • Experience in piping/equipment integrity, including systemization and circuitization. 
    • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). 
    • Knowledge of corporate "workflow" system, department responsibilities, and maintenance procedures preferred. 
    • Basic understanding of corrosion mechanisms and inspection techniques.
