Rivers Health is seeking a per-diem Multi Discipline Technologist.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Performs radiologic and computerized tomographic examinations according to routine views and/or physician requests in a manner which is competent to each respective area.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.

The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.

 

  1. Performs quality radiographic procedures according to department

     policy and procedure.

    

  1. Evaluates radiographic quality of films prior to interpretation.

    

  1. Prepares patients for examinations obtaining pertinent histories and

     explaining the examination.

 

  1. Performs C.A.T. scans according to routine procedures.

 

  1. Coordinates scheduling, transportation and scanning of patients.

    

  1. Maintains cleanliness of room and equipment. Orders supplies used

     in the operation of the C.A.T. scanner and assigned radiology room.

    

  1. Follows safety and infection control policies of department and

     hospital.

    

  1. Takes call as scheduled.

 

  1. Performs other duties that may be assigned.

 

  1. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and

     Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.

 

  1. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.

 

  1. Will participate in quality improvement activities including serving

     on quality improvement teams.

Qualifications

 

Must have satisfactorily completed an AMA approved Radiology Technology

program and be able to meet the registry requirements by the ARRT.  Must be licensed by the state of WV.

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

None.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

Must have knowledge of medical terminology and be able to read requests for examinations.  Must have adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.  Must be able to work with numerals, decimals and fractions.  Must be able to effectively communicate information to patient and physicians.  Must be able to identify and assess the special needs of patients of all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics.  Must be able to effectively communicate with the patient.
