Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
Pay Range: $100,000 – $120,000 annually

Southern Fabricators is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to lead our Quality Department and help drive excellence throughout our manufacturing operations. This position oversees a team of 8–10 employees and plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards on the shop floor while also serving as a primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and communication. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with strong public speaking and communication abilities, proven success managing teams, and a passion for continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

The Quality Manager will work closely with production, engineering, operations, and customers to ensure products meet customer expectations and company standards. This role requires a strong leadership presence and the ability to communicate effectively in meetings, customer discussions, training environments, and cross-functional team settings. The position is responsible for maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 standards, supporting 5S and Lean Six Sigma initiatives, conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and helping improve overall manufacturing quality and efficiency. This role will also assist with the development and implementation of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and customer quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Quality Department
  • Manage, mentor, and support a team of 8–10 quality employees
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the department
  • Monitor and improve shop floor quality performance
  • Communicate directly with customersregardingquality concerns, corrective actions, and quality performance
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and training discussions related to quality initiatives and standards
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and quality procedures
  • Support and promote 5S, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assistin the implementation and maintenance of PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze quality trends andidentifyopportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to improve processes and product quality
  • Support internal and external audits andmaintainorganized quality documentation
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degreerequired; Engineering degree preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and 10–15 years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment may also be considered
  • Previousleadership experience in a manufacturing quality environmentrequired
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards and quality systems
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices
  • Familiarity with PPAP documentation and customer quality requirements preferred
  • Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proven success leading teams and improving performance
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Positive attitude and strong leadership presence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience in metal fabrication or durable goods manufacturing
  • Experience with audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
